Brandon Kusako
Brandon H. Kusako is a board-certified physician assistant who has earned numerous medical certifications and accolades, has presented and published, and has spent time in emergency medicine, surgery, trauma, and critical care.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Emmanuel College and then his Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Northeastern University. After that, he completed his Post Graduate Surgical Physician Assistant Residency at Yale University School of Medicine/Norwalk Hospital. While in school he was a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa: The National Leadership Honor Society and the Beta Beta Beta: National Biological Honors Society.
His certifications beyond his physician assistant licenses include Advanced Trauma Life Support, the Fundamentals of Critical Care Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider, and Medication Administration Training.
Brandon has an impressive leadership track record. He has served on the Surgical Quality Improvement Committee at Norwalk Hospital, was the Co-Chair for the Program for Research Assistant Development and Achievement (PRADA) at Boston Children’s Hospital, and was the Vice President of Emergency Medical Services at Emmanuel College. He has also contributed to the Norwalk Hospital Surgical Grand Rounds and the Journal of Human Genetics and has presented at both the FaceBase Consortium Annual Meeting and the Muddy River Research Symposium.
Prior to joining The Vascular Group, Brandon worked at Norwalk Hospital as a Surgical Physician Assistant and earned the inaugural Excellence in Mentorship Award. Before that, he worked as a Clinical Research Study Coordinator at Boston Children’s Hospital and as an Emergency Medical Technician, NREMT-B at American Medical Response.
