Alfred J. Phillips DPM, FACFAS is a Board-certified foot and ankle surgeon with more than 30 years of experience. Dr. Phillips received his undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University before receiving his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from Temple University. He completed a three-year residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at HCA Doctors Hospital/Northlake Regional Medical Center in Atlanta, G.A. Over the course of his career, Dr. Phillips has treated patients at hospitals throughout New England. The majority of this time was spent actively training podiatric surgical residents at Carney Hospital, Cambridge Health Alliance, and, most recently, St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Brighton, Mass. Dr. Phillips has also served as the Chief of the Podiatry Division for Optima Health/Catholic Medical Center, Cambridge Health Alliance and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. He has served as president of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Association and has been a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association; New Hampshire Podiatric Medical Association; Podiatric Institute; American Board of Podiatric Surgery; and American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Phillips is Board-certified in foot surgery and rearfoot/ankle reconstructive surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. As a member of the Podiatry Institute, Dr. Phillips has lectured locally and nationally on foot surgery to podiatry and orthopedic surgeons and is actively involved in research projects. He contributed to the McGlamry Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Textbook 5th Edition on Achilles Tendon Disorders. His clinical interests include treatment of painful flatfeet, osteoarthritis of the foot and ankle, diabetic foot reconstruction and limb salvage, revisional foot surgery, and sports injuries of the foot and ankle. When he’s not working, Dr. Phillips can be found hiking or taking long walks with his wife, Christine, and their dog, Maevie. He also enjoys birdwatching, kayaking, and watching his three children grow into independent young adults.

Dr. Chandler joined Vascular Care Connecticut in 2021. He is a vascular surgeon who was trained at Geisinger Medical Center and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Chandler is Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is licensed to practice medicine in New York and Connecticut. His professional interests include minimally invasive endovascular procedures for treatment of vascular diseases such as aortic, thoracic, and visceral artery repair, open and TCAR repair of the carotid artery, dialysis access creation and maintenance, and surgical bypass. Dr. Chandler takes a personal interest in all his patients and provides comprehensive care to every one of them, seeing them as individuals and not as patients.

Brandon H. Kusako is a board-certified physician assistant who has earned numerous medical certifications and accolades, has presented and published, and has spent time in emergency medicine, surgery, trauma, and critical care.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Emmanuel College and then his Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Northeastern University. After that, he completed his Post Graduate Surgical Physician Assistant Residency at Yale University School of Medicine/Norwalk Hospital. While in school he was a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa: The National Leadership Honor Society and the Beta Beta Beta: National Biological Honors Society.

His certifications beyond his physician assistant licenses include Advanced Trauma Life Support, the Fundamentals of Critical Care Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider, and Medication Administration Training.

Brandon has an impressive leadership track record. He has served on the Surgical Quality Improvement Committee at Norwalk Hospital, was the Co-Chair for the Program for Research Assistant Development and Achievement (PRADA) at Boston Children’s Hospital, and was the Vice President of Emergency Medical Services at Emmanuel College. He has also contributed to the Norwalk Hospital Surgical Grand Rounds and the Journal of Human Genetics and has presented at both the FaceBase Consortium Annual Meeting and the Muddy River Research Symposium.

Prior to joining The Vascular Group, Brandon worked at Norwalk Hospital as a Surgical Physician Assistant and earned the inaugural Excellence in Mentorship Award. Before that, he worked as a Clinical Research Study Coordinator at Boston Children’s Hospital and as an Emergency Medical Technician, NREMT-B at American Medical Response.

Brandon looks forward to bringing his passion for medicine and wealth of knowledge to the patients at The Vascular Care Group.

Bobbi Coode has been working as an autonomous board-certified nurse practitioner since 2010. She is always interested in expanding her learnings, knowledge, and skills, therefore, maximizing her potential. She is a strong leader, a seasoned mentor, a top communicator, and above all a collaborative team member.

Bobbi earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Lewis & Clark Community College, her Bachelor of Nursing degree from McKendree University, and her Master of Science degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University.

Beyond that, Bobbi has earned certifications for both Emergency Medical Technician-Basic and Paramedicine levels. She also has advanced training in intubation, suturing, placement and removal of arterial lines, placement and removal of central venous lines, tracheostomy changing and decannulation, removal of epicardial and transvenous pacing wires, removal of intraaortic balloon pumps, removal of chest tubes, management of lumbar drains, and cardiac stress testing. Bobbi is also aesthetically trained with certification in both botox and filler treatments.

Prior to joining the Vascular Care Group team, Bobbi worked as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology at the Heart Center of Metrowest and as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in Cardiothoracic Surgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center. Before that, she worked at both Washington University School of Medicine and St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, as an Adult Nurse Practitioner for Cardiothoracic Surgery.
